So what is the lowest sail on the foremast called? It is triangular in shape. Is the triangle shape to ventilate the jibs on the bowsprit? Do you think it's trimmed that way or is that the permanent shape? I would think that if the Black Pearl were sailing deep downwind, like in the Trade Winds, you would want all the squares sails set and maybe even strike the mainsail which might just muck up the square sails. And what would we call this rig? I'd guess hermaphrodite schooner? What a glorious vessel!

I looked for a definition of "full and by" and discovered my belief of its meaning was less than completely correct as a politician might verbalize. I did find a web site that might be of interest to sailors who have put their boats on land for the winter or have stored them in some other manner. It might also be a good read as a way to increase one's vocabulary. The pages include an index in which you can find a term listed alphabetically and then "click on it" to be transported to the term and its meaning within the 88 pages of information.

Yep, sounds really windy but, no shots of the sails or anything. Just some guy driving and some water..... Would be better if shot from the driver perspective so you could see the sails and the boat. But, ummm.... yeah, not really "sailing pr0n". My opinion.
You saw the main. It was strapped to the boom and the Genoa was about 15% ( not much to see) Sorry for not meeting your expectations. I was on the helm and my friend took the video. I’ll make sure to flog him extensively when I see him next. Just be happy I got the thing to play. lol
