A few item I have selected so far that will be knew. Covers 1 mode of power....I also intend on solar. With small generator as emergency backup. Cover depth finder and gps/ chartplotter. And auto pilot.

Ok everyone. Here is the cal 28.
It does include a 10hp outboard but I do like the new ports built in engine. But the cal does have a stove and oven. Very nice for a live aboard. What do you guys think? This one is $1000. But I have to move it when I buy it. It is in Bainbridge island if anyone is interested in going to see it for me? Save me what could be a wasted trip

I like CAL boats. I understand your focus on low priced boats to enter into the world of adventure.
My quick take is the CAL might be serviceable to clean up, live on, and build sailing skills in the Puget Sound. As Far as an open ocean boat for a 48 hour period there are some issues.
Both of the boats may be capable of such a trip but they are not what would be considered good for your proposed trip. Here is a link to boats that have "Blue Water" structure. Bluewaterboats.org - Sailboat reviews for offshore sailing
When you plan to sail out into the ocean more than 20-30 miles from shore and perhaps spend the night at sea, there are some specific traits that make a boat capable in an overnight condition.
Look at the boats in this sites list. Most of them have full keels. This design helps to keep the boat sailing in a straight direction for hours just by how you set the sails. No work for the proposed electric tiller AP that you posted. No reason to make or hope to make electricity.
Second and important they have smallish cockpits. It is an expectation if your sail in the ocean that a wave (maybe a rogue wave) will come up from behind and break while it is above your head. The water will fall down the wave and crash into your stern filling the cockpit with water. A large cockpit is a risk. Filled with water and a slow system to drain the water is a problem.
Take a look at a chart. From Westport to Port Angeles. Only a few places to safely land a boat. Lots of near shore hazards that normally keeps sailboats well out to sea. Some as far out as 30 miles west of the coast. A 28ft sailboat has an average speed of about 5.5 knots. Sure during perfect conditions they can get up to a hull speed of maybe 6.5 to 6.7, but most of the time the conditions are not perfect. And often they are down right shitty. If you are relying on sailing and you are heading in a direction into the prevailing wind it may be 10 miles in a direct line but you will be forced to sail 20 or 25 miles tacking towards you goal and avoiding seamounts and rocky shoals.
Comfort at sea is a precious commodity. Being able to cook a hot meal (I note the stove in the CAL 28 was not gimbaled), being dry, being able to sail in all conditions are not just luxuries, they are essential functional requirements that contribute to your survival.

Tied to a dock you can manage. Sailing in the Juan D Fuca when it is ornery you may be waiting for coffee unless you wisely planned ahead with a thermos of hot water or coffee.
During our 2019 winter sail, our skipper went below and returned with hot cup of noodles. That was so good. I had been at the helm for about 3 hours and it was so good.

Interesting. Now that you are looking beyond the local area, you will find all sorts of opportunities. I think it would be easier to live in Florida than here in the Pacific NW. If for no other reason the weather. You can live in shorts nearly all year long. You might find a cost of living more favorable along the gulf coast, Mississippi, Alabama, panhandle of Florida all the way to Texas. There are the hurricanes you have to deal with, and there are boats that have been damaged which end up being abandoned or given away. If you are handy and for a time want to try and recover one of these it might be an opportunity. You will discover a whole different focus on life than that of Aberdeen WA.
At least that would be my gut feeling. There are SBO members all along that area with more insight than me.
