I would appreciate pictures of installation if you have installed a 12 volt windlass on your B 351 Oceanis, or any of the similar models.
thank you in advance

You did not indicate your boat's year. Below is a 1994 B Oceanis 351 windlass photo.I would appreciate pictures of installation.........windlass on ........B 351 Oceanis, or any of the similar models........
Mike mine is the same plaque says 93 ,but my paper work says 94 , I talk to Ward at Beneteau and he went thru the serial number with me ,my boat was started in nov 93 and finished in feb /94 and was the 3rd one made .On Legacy, a B 351, all of the papers say 94, but as I was sitting in the cockpit last weekend, I looked down and there was a plaque that said 1993. I have not looked at the serial number. Suspect keel was laid in 93 and finished in 94, or maybe sold new in 94. But should be identical to yours. Is that a tigress with 5/16 HT, or 3/8. How much chain and how much warp (I read today that is the right word, I think, rather than line).
We cruise every week, primarily in the San Francisco Bay with overnighters at a destination marina. We only anchor out during lunch, not overnight, albeit we used to anchor out all over the Chesapeake Bay where it has protected anchorages. We like our electronics and maintain a backups (handheld vhf and electric winch, charts and an extra hand to manually hoist up a 60 pound anchor).............do you cruise.........?How much do you anchor out?........but it made us rethink reliance upon that much electrics.
You can do it from the helm with a SPDT switch. I have the wired paddle at the bow, a switch at the helm. You can get them with "windlass" or up/down on them. You only need to pick up 12v from somewhere in the helm and use a 2-conductor wire to the bow. If you only UP the anchor from the helm, you only need SPST and 1-wire.The factory-installed up and down are controlled by separate foot switches on the deck adjacent to the windlass. Of course would be nice if they were at the helm like on powerboats. I guess I could buy a remote for that.
In looking at your installation of the Tigress windlass (I think that is what it is) you have cut the fiberglass to make room for electric motor part of the windlass. Did you have to cut into the forward cabin, or was that just part of the anchor locker. We cruise every week, primarily in the San Francisco Bay with overnighters at a destination marina.
