Any C-310 owners replaced their traveler line? The double braid on the starboard line came asunder today on either side of the clutch. As a result, the traveler cannot be moved in either direction.
I measured my line as 7/16 in x 30 ft long. I can buy line, but the real issue is the eye-splice needed to connect to the car. If I take my time and label the lines, I can splice a three line nylon rode (it isn't pretty). There is no way I can splice the line and double braid cover. A pin goes through the eye-splice and connects the line to the car. The inside diameter of the splice is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch (difficult to measure as it is hidden in-between the other lines running through the blocks. A knot will rub on the other lines as the car moves back and forth.
Catalina Direct sells traveler line, listed for the C-310, but it is 5/16 x 33 ft long. Now my line diameter measurement may be off a bit, but is sure isn't off by 1/8 inch. The specs do not indicate if the lines have an eye-splice. I'm not at all sure my clutches will grab and hold a 5/16 line.
