Pearson 31-2 Chester MD
Just found this on a '88 Pearson 31-2 we just bought and getting it ready to go back in the water. We just can't figure out what this is used for. Its made of plastic - any guesses?

Silly goose, it's an antique- an envelope/letter opener from the days when folks used the postal service to deliver their messages. It's probably worth big bucks now.

You wrote her letters?

Mail. It was called mail.

Wait. I've heard of it. It was a means

Wow guess they would not understand my clay tablet calculator or slide rule either.

It is nothing special, just a section of batten that is longer than the restraining strap is deep. The picture shows a fancy one.
Fancy indeed! The notch at the end is designed to fit into a small pocket at the end of the velcro strap. Makes getting it in much easier.

Still have my slide rule from 1969. A friend has one framed. Even though calculators were coming into their own, we had to use a slide rule on all exams until 1973!

Maybe this tool needs to be framed too!

If you have a slide rule from 1969 (as I do), maybe that is not the only tool that needs to be framed.
