Grow up and fly the proper colors. That is an daft thing for you to fly. No matter how you "feel" about any current or past political climate, do what is right as an American and don't be an embarrassment to sailors.
I saw a hot chick while at a winery near Austin, TX. What came after that was trying not to get caught staring. My wife, who was sitting next to me, knew I was admiring the tatoo. The hot chick’s husband, on the other hand, might not have been so understanding. There was more after this sentence, but Kermit, I'm surprised you would have not just stopped there. Ok you saw what, again?

He was asking for opinions. Nicely. Maybe we should offer our opinions the same way he asked for them.Grow up and fly the proper colors. That is an daft thing for you to fly. Ah yes. But she was a hot chick, tatoo or no tatoo. I had to look away. Self-preservation. If her husband hadn’t beat me up my wife would have. She would not have put it there if she did not want anyone to look at it.
If your wife were to catch you just tell her "That nice tat would look better on you babe".
I figure that whenever someone spends money to decorate or enhance their body, they WANT you to look at it. It's what a businessperson would call 'Return On Investment'.She would not have put it there if she did not want anyone to look at it.
It would also be a mistake to mention how much more room there might be for the tatAh yes. But she was a hot chick, tatoo or no tatoo. I had to look away. Self-preservation. If her husband hadn’t beat me up my wife would have.
It was on her arm. But it still would have been a mistake! It would also be a mistake to mention how much more room there might be for the tat
@Kermit , were you looking specifically to get beaten up that night?Ah yes. But she was a hot chick, tatoo or no tatoo. I had to look away. Self-preservation. If her husband hadn’t beat me up my wife would have.
I get it, to each his own. But I never ever want to be like these people, ever. Nothing about this says sailing to me.
How appropriate that the hijack emogi is a pirate.
Sorry Simon,
For those who don't like the idea of perpetuating the romantic image of the pirates of old, I'm sorry. You have missed out on some good movies and a great ride at Disney World.
Simon, the flag is cool. Whatever a captain might have been or became on either side of his privateer days, a privateer is not a pirate. What you don't want to fly is the flag of a modern Somali pirate. That would be in bad taste. Oh right, modern pirates don't fly flags.
In this day and age, a jolly roger is just a symbol of the romantic image of a rogue sailor. Real piracy has very little association with that flag. Don't believe me, just attend Gasperilla Day in Tampa.![]()

Nope. That’s why I had to look away.@Kermit , were you looking specifically to get beaten up that night?![]()
Laffite's direct descendants live two houses down from me. Pierre use to teach at the local high school. He passed away a few years ago, but the family lives on. A very nice guy. Not a pirate.if it were not for privateer/pirate Jean Laffite, we would be flying the British ensign today.
Not to make excuses, but I wasn't there to ensure of it's proper lowering and being folded last time she was flown.Ensigns should be taken down and neatly folded before sundown. That’s not only good flag etiquette, it will prevent yours from being torn apart by storms again.![]()
Don't think it would have made a difference as the "Battle of New Orleans" was only a practice battle fought after the peace was signed. Poor communications back in the day.Well, if it were not for privateer/pirate Jean Laffite, we would be flying the British ensign today.
