While sailing to the Canaries, my father met a couple from Macedonia. They moved aboard their boat and were sailing the World. They explained that they couldn't wait to get away where everyone still resented the fact that Alexander's empire was gone and had hopes of recapturing their former glory.

I think I like your story, but I am not one to run from a problem.:soapbox:

LOL Will.
Not wanting to be confusing, my thought was a Funny PC Ambassador could use humor among humans to open communication.

I agree with those that have highlighted it should be the correct spelling. VERRAZZANO.

I have visited the Verrazzano winery in Tuscany Italy and discussed the history with the present owners. They have two stones from the bridge in NY in place at the winery and there are also two stones from the winery in the Bridge in NYC. By the way - their wine is very good! I suggest trying it.

The guy is dead who really cares how it is spelled as it is pronounced the same anyway. Everyone will continue to pronounce it the same way they have all along no matter if they are right or wrong.

Well now that the name of the Verrazzaro Bridge has been punctiliously examined, can we start on the Tappan Zee Bridge which has been renamed to the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge?
