They didn't have trees big enough to lift those big stones.... Oh wait that was before Paul Bunyan chopped down the Sahara Forest, or they could have floated logs down the Nile from central Africa. But I read somewhere that they had Aliens build them!I have always wondered why they never mention the shaduf when talking about theories for building the pyramids.
Personally, I think the more amazing feat is to possess the technology to enslave an alien race to build your tombs for you.But I read somewhere that they had Aliens build them!
Actually, once those tired old farmers found out they could use those trees to build sailboats instead of shadufs and pyramids, they soon hit the high seas. Little did they know how much maintenance was involved and soon the entire empire began its decline. That’s why there are no newer pyramids or hanging gardens. Go figure. That contraption is called a Shaduf. It has been used since the ancient Egyptians devised it as an irrigation aid. One end had a bucket on a long line while the other end was weighted. The farmer stood on top of the wall that separated thre river from his field and pulled down on the line to fill the bucket. The counter weight aided in lifting the full bucket you over the wall. The arm pivoted on the pole so the bucket could then be dumped into the irrigation ditch that ran through the field.![]()
