Fabulous work Will! My young grand-kids would never go down the companionway again.
Below are some pics I took of art I liked at the Las Olas art festival two weeks ago.
Unbelievable work, Will! And that is burned into the wood? It's beautiful.
Sailing, all aspects of it, is art!
I don't know the artist here, but the first owner of this boat was E.B. White. The boats name is FERN. What's the meaning of the spiders web on the hatch boards? That's all the clews you get.
I don't know who owns this painting of my boat. Someone saw it online and sent me the jpeg. It's a painting from a photo the artist must have taken at least a decade ago. I know because I can date it by the black stain coming out of the exhaust pipe. I took that engine out and put another one in, over 10 years ago. The artist was (is) a realist to the end!

I use a water-based spar varnish called Ultra Gold. Suppose to have better UV protection than oil-based spar vanishes. Been on my kitchen counter top for 10 years, no issues.

Are those all by the same artist. That is some real talent there. I love those paintings. The curves in boats are very hard to get right.

We have similar webs and spiders on our boat, but they continue to move!

Hey Phil, yeah...us too. If I had that spider thing done to my hatch boards, I’d need to have the artist etch a pattern that looks like an arachnid squashed by a pair of Docksiders.

My ex is a fine artist -Does mostly marine objects- boats, birds, etc. Some of her work still amazes me
