Can anyone suggest a broker to use to sell a 35 ft sailboat in the Annapolis Maryland area?

Salt Yachts in Rock Hall. Tom Lippincott, from the yacht builder family of the same name.
Honest, knowledgable, friendly.
When we bought our Bristol in 2011, he was the only broker in the area that I encountered who didn't try to snooker me in some way.

Sell it yourself, and use Annapolis Yacht Documentation Service to proctor the sale (paperwork, hold documents, arrange escrow). I recently sold my PDQ using their services and it went very smoothly.

Second recommendation of Tom Lippincott at Salt Yachts. I recently purchased a used sailboat from him and he is “old school”- knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with. He comes from a long line of Chesapeake Bay sailors.

Never used one myself to sell and I've sold or traded four boats. Not that I'm negative on brokers--most are very knowledgeable, nice folks and I love chatting with them about boats. I just did not seem to need their services. There are some disadvantages. They're expensive @ 10% of the sale price, typically. Unlike real estate brokers in some markets, the "pressure" from yacht brokers always is to come down in asking price. They want to move yachts-that is their job. But also, sellers may have an overly optimistic view of the value of their boats. Sure, brokers can help you sell your boat; but, you could probably do that yourself if you get the price down far enough, which ultimately is what they try to do, plus save yourself the 10%, etc. [I do not wish to impugn any brokers or former brokers on SBO; I also have friends who are brokers.]

I would also say list the boat yourself.... the paperwork is not so difficult for you to figure out as well and then you can save money...... my plan on my last boat was to try selling until March then give it to the broker..... boat was sold in a month
