Sad. I'm still hoping for a couple weeks of summer. It's beginning to look like I won't get it.

Here is a pic from a couple weeks ago:

yuck..... snow and ice .... I used to love snow when I was a kid but now... not so much.

with wind chill it is below zero here today. Glad I got my OB home yesterday. She is tucked away in my basement for the winter and I'm guessing will stay there till march.

Yeah squidd I used to vacation in Butternut WI (2h north of Warsaw) in the dead of winter. Don't miss it and feel for you cheese heads. Back when I was young and stupid I used to X-country ski back country with a pop-tent.

In MN you play with Mother Nature at your own peril.

Funny thing is, we sailed for another two weeks after this. Now the lake is frozen.

I'm up at the mountain right now and for the last hour and a half or so I was geting the snowmobile running for the kids, so they could use it this weekend. It is gusting over 40 and the temp was 3F when I was working on it. It is reading -7F right now, a ten degree drop in about an hour, and my fingers are still thawing out. Sailing would be good right about now..

Back in 1993 during the artic age at your marina, a fellow tried to get his boat out but somehow let loose the trailer into the water with a note dive, dive, dive. It was hot outside, only 7 degrees compared to Siberia during the Russian winter. I had made two back to back trips to Florida to pick up two Catalina 22's and when I walked into the office towing the second boat and sure tired came the call. Went to the marina and sure enough saw the trailer underwater with the boat tied to the dock half submerged with no one around, not even a mouse. Since no one was around, went skinny dipping streaking thru the parking lot. Hooked up a chain to the trailer and ran or streaked back to the truck to get warm and also to get out of the birthday suit when Mr. and Mrs. Owner arrived. Yikes. They laughed their butts off. When I got my clothes on and of course freezing cold, I told Mrs. Owner to drive several miles for a cup of hot mojoe and leave Mr. Owner to help. Got the boat onto the trailer, pulled out the pumps and "drained the swamp." When told how water got into the boat, I laughed. Mrs. owner pulled the depth finder and knot meter out without putting the dummy plugs in. Husband realized what was going on and went back into the boat to put them in. I parked the boat and then proceeded home to warm up. Mrs. Owner had to tell several folks and boy did I hear about that. They sure did not like my bill.

Let me get use to two new bulging discs and arthrititis . Boy this has been a year with stent, finishing a 2000 sq ft basement, working on the embankment rolling down of course and other things. Hope grading papers goes well. Talk with you later my friend and keep me posted on the stains and if needed I will drive over to Lake Haven but a cup of moejoe is a request.
See ya

Wow.. Quit posting those winter pics... It's making me cold.
I _did_ go sailing last week. It was bitter cold here, like 59 or so. I think I'll go tomorrow too, will be even colder - they're sayin a high of 58.

Our water is liquid again but it's cold out there. We'll drive to the Oregon Coast this weekend and watch the waves. It's not sailing, but should be a nice break.
