H23.5 cockpit seat cushions in shreds

The foam seat back cushions that Hunter glued to the sides of cockpit in the 23.5 have deteriorated over years of outdoor storage to the point of being cracked and falling apart. The tops have all of the coating missing and are just open foam chunks now. (see photo for cushion location, that's not my boat, just for demonstration purposes)

Any advice on how to peel off these old cushions? They seem to be glued on there and I don't want to damage the 'glass underneath. I don't want to replace them, but think I will just use portable backrest cushions in the future. Thanks for any advice!

The back cushions in the cockpit of my 23.5 were held in place with velcro like strips. They, too, became cracked and unsightly so I removed them and just use portable cushions. It's been years since I removed the velcro strips but the glue that held them remains. If anyone has a good method of removing this glue, let me know.

Correct... goo gone is the name. Goof off is an entirely different animal.:cowbell:

This stuff is amazing. Worked much better than Acetone, Goof Off, or Goo Gone.

Got the adhesive off with acetone and quite a bit of elbow grease. Neither Goo Gone nor Label and Sticker Remover could touch it. Must have been some mighty good glue!

Thanks, Dave.

WD-40 works amazing to remove adhesive!
