One of the few arguments that we have on our boat is "Do we accept that the approaching boat understands the rules of the road?" .I always argue that one is obliged to stand on when on the starboard tack even though the other boat seems intent on suicide. Nevertheless I do sweat and I was wondering now that LEDs are cheap and can be easily configured that lights be attached to the boat so that proposed turn to the right would be shown by led lights on the port side flashing red. Or would this be too tacky(sorry).
