My dad passed away last June and I am still trying to tie up some of his loose ends. I have manage to keep sailing 2 or 3 times a week. If you remember I had an aortic valve replacement and manage to survive that. The dilemma of sailing while on Warfaran was solve. They switched me to Pradaxa to prevent clotting and because of a post op and apparently permanent Afib condition I will have to remain on it. However, I have the perfect solution for some of my sails. I have been sailing on a Beneteau 58 yacht owned by a very nice emergency room physician about once a week. How's that for the best of both worlds . What a beautiful boat. The quality and workmanship is gorgeous. Most of his crew are avid sailors and a few crew on race boats. There are usually 10 on board, mostly women. Everyone contributes to the potluck so every sail is a feast. He has a code zero asymmetrical that we fly nearly every time. He is trying to train the crew for races this summer. He has sparked my interest in racing. I still get out on my boat on weekends with my friends.
Here is a video I made of one of the sails on his boat.
On one of the last sails we found Frank Gehry's yacht Foggy in the main channel getting ready to go out and then sailing off into the fog.
Here are a few pictures and a link to a couple of articles about it.
I thought we were pointing high but according to the AIS she was 21* higher.
Here is a picture of the Ruby D'eau from the dock. Larry Sunderland's (Zac's dad) boat is in the next slip.
I will try to stay in touch more often, I do miss you guys.
