Hi all,
Found a nice beach and was lucky to have the camera rolling at the right time. Test your eyes and let me know if you see it!

If your talking about the ray, I jumped off my boat on to one of those once (didn't look first). Fortunately I didn't get tagged. It did take my feet out.

I used to surf at a river mouth that carried the cooling water from power plants, nice and warm in winter, but it was known as "Ray Bay".

Yep, I was busy getting the dinghy on the sand and my wife walked over the breakwater laying out the towels. Very nice spot so we were in and out of the water doing the shuffle walk. A power boat went a little fast out the inlet with a good size wake so I went to check the dinghy again. It was still OK but slid a little and had a bit of water that had come up over the transom.

I had my head down bailing the water and watching my footing rather than getting the big picture. Walked back to the towel and got the smart phone just to snap a shot of the dinghy. After three pictures I noticed the shadow and pointed it out to my wife. It is surprising how fast one can pick up towels and coolers. But it is a nice spot.

My ray picture. Salt Whistle Bay on Mayreau in the Grenadines a few too many years ago. I was a little nervous after seeing it from the beach.

A few years ago my wife was walking abut calf deep spotting seashelld on Sanibel while I stood guard. I spotted a ray near her and told her , she started backing up out of the water and it followed her right to the edge of the water, stopped in front of her fore a few seconds before turning away, we had an amazing close up look at him.

On Cayo Costa island, just north of Sanibel/Captiva, we see rays in the shallow water. They are almost like puppies and swim right up to your feet. You learn to do the stingray shuffle and wear water shoes. This is our favorite secret place in SW Florida.

This is on target!
They don't like humanoids because our feet don't smell like a snail or clam (at least mine don't).

They are not aggressive like their shark cousins.

Is a good video.

As a trained Scuba diver, I get out of the water when sharks are seen and yawn at stingrays.
Jim...

PS: oops you can't yawn with a scuba mouth piece.
