Hi,

Which are the 12V power and return pins on the Seatalk-ng 6 pin connectors on the display? Say when looking at the connectors at the back of the display, moving counterclockwise from the top, starting to left of the alignment key.

I just bought a i50 displays and just want to power without the complexity of installing a network. RayMarine doesn't provide a direct connect cable with the display, though the circuit is shown in the installation manual. One of the cables they provide has a 3 pin Sea talk connector so rather than spending $100 for a starter kit, I plan to cut the 3 pin connector off and connect the 2 power wires to 12V. I just want a little outside verification that I'm applying power to the right pins.

Thanks Chris

Where are you getting your data? I tried to install an I40 Bidata in my boat as a repeater....which is old Seatalk 1, which I ran into a 22158 Seatalk to Seatalkng converter, connecting to a spur in the ng network, and the only thing that happened was the I40 powered up, but killed the speed and a couple of other things. Ray was scratching their heads. So I am just going to put an I70 down below. It works. Im not sure if the I50 is ng or not.

@Doug4bass

Are you powering the I40 directly or through the convertor??

Power for the I40 should come from the Seatalk-ng backbone through the convertor.

Powering through the converter which comes from a spur off of the ITC-5 spur or the backbone ( tried both). Powers up, depth is normal. Speed is not. Alł zeros when plugged in. Funny, but in one of my talks with "ray" ...the girl let me know that the speed would read zero if tied up in the slip. :)
