Facebook post gives clue to new direction for Hunter?

Anyone else notice what's different about the boat in this photo? From a picture posted on Hunter's Facebook page earlier today.

Looks like they have changed the emphasis in the name on the logo from other recent pictures...

Huh, I saw that photo and missed it; good catch. Yea, if there have been as many improvements as was noted, plus any residual sales resistance from the structured bankruptcy, then a rebranding may be useful. Obviously, I don't know what any surveys tell them.

Wow, that is an interesting and potentially risky move. But they might figure that anyone who knows Hunter knows what a Marlowe is, and anyone that does not know Hunter will not care.

'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Hunter.
What's Hunter? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Marlow would, were he not Marlow call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Marlow, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.

Apologies, obviously, to William Shakespeare! ;^)

Absolutely no disrespect for Hunter or Marlow, or Bill S. When I saw the picture I first thought of "What's in a name...". Then I read the whole quote and laughed.

Sorry Mr. Marlow.

Guess Brian (playing Juliette) is good with name change.... (Great Lines) However, I'm not exactly sure I'm really happy about it... What's next MARLOW ford???? Dairy Queen has not become BERKSHIRE queen! :naughty: In my opinion, I think it's a MARLOW EGO thing. But then again if I bought it, it might become PGIJON marlow HUNTER Just my 2 cents....

Is it just me or is there a serious gap between the hull and the deck? Looks like a source for some big-time water intrusion. Probably wouldn't even need a leaf blower to find the problem.

-or-

Would Crazy Dave use 4200 or 5200 to seal the gap?

-or-

Just caulk it. It'll be just fine.

-or-

That's a nice pop-top. Can you sail with it open?

Hunter has positive name recognition as innovative, affordable, quality production boats. Any financial difficulties the company may have encountered in a recession which affected many has little negative bearing on the products. To renounce to such legacy seems to me unnecessary and quite risky from a marketing standpoint.

Indeed. I would assume that H-M has a dealership consul that this idea was bounced off of. It would be interesting to know what THEY think of the idea.

lets see,

the sailor warren luhrs and john Cherubini, glen Henderson, john Peterson et. al had a sailboat company so successful, that it was able to support 3 other motorboat manufacturers for 4 years during a recession.

Mr Marlowe.
paid cents on the dollar, cant get a boat to a show, has vowed to not keep anything that cannot pay its own way, backed out of business commitments to sailing schools, marinas and boatyards,

Seems that MR Marlowe is the better business man,
Mr Luhrs............the better boat builder.

will he did keep the sailboat logo and also the same style font in the name and on top of that it is his company and money now and from what i can tell he still supports the older models in customer service...... hey guys give the guy a chance ....maybe it was time for a change ...recession or not ....only time will tell....not liken to the 70's when all the holding companies were buying everything and had no clue how to build a boat and eventually running them in the ground....just my 2 cents
