Happy Valentine's Day.
The seller and I met this morning, and I finally got the chance to inspect below decks.
Took a few photos, then confabbed with the seller, who wanted to know my intentions regarding his baby girl.
I told him I was certainly interested, but it was really the first bluewater boat I've had the chance to look at, and still wanted to get down to San Carlos to see the selection there.
Maybe it was my shabby appearance, or the POS Toyota pickup I came in, IDK, but he wasn't too responsive to my effort to inspect much of anything. All in all, I was able to spend about an hour kicking the tires.
His asking price had increased 30% over the initial quote I'd gotten from his maintenance man, Ernesto, and he justified his asking price by talking about how much he's been dealing with automobiles and their prices.
It appears he's a tinkerer, and had supposedly rebuilt the Nissan diesel, the Velvetdrive tranny, new batts, and made quite a big deal about his quart of Brightsides Interlux poly paint.
I'm going to let him stew, and look at the 35-ish Ericson down the dock, in the meantime.
