Slider material

Coriolis, nicely done! I also like the mirrored sliders, where'd you get the material, please?
Really slick Chrisings- btw/ what thickness of lexan did you use for the backsplash (and what thickness do you recommend for the sliders?)

The lexan is 1/4", not sure what sliders you are referring to?

Slider doors for galley storage along the port side (see pic) one of mine is cracked... I'm pretty sure they are 1/8" if the backsplash is 1/4". Thanks for providing food for thought - I'll probably copy your design!

Ah, those are the original doors on my boat. If you look back in this thread Coriolisbc replaced the doors with mirrored ones. Really nice looking too.

Chris, very nice!

One thought though. The acorn nuts might catch things on the counter when you're making dinner. A flathead bolt and a finishing washer would give you a flush fit.

Jim

Thanks Jim,

That is basically what is on the other side. My though was someone setting with their back to the galley might feel the nuts poking them in the back, hence my acorn nuts on the counter side. We'll find out in the spring if they get in the way. Pretty easy to swap them around.

Makes sense. Maybe a barrel nut on the counter side? Sorry, I'm an incurable tinkerer so I'm always looking to fiddle with the details :D

I like the barrel nut idea. McMaster-Carr perhaps?

Any good hardware store should have them.

You might even get lucky at Home Depot or Lowes. Look in the boxes marked "specialty hardware" on the hardware isle.
