It seems this is very not good. Last comment on the legal subject. The old boat however is fair game. Neat looking tuggy thingy.

I'm just asking who the guy is. What's the problem?
Sorry Wink

I should have quoted the previous post instead of yours. I did not mean to imply that you were guilty of rumor mongering.

... sincere apologies...

Remember the old adage, "Wood I.......shut up hair lip"!

This is a good example of why boat manufactures have gone to Fiberglas, especially if used in SALT water, wood hulls have problems, remember the last voyage of the Bounty?.

Replacing my topsides wood with a manmade material making for little maintenance was the right choice. Unfortunately for her, this boat will probably never again feel water on her hull. I'm not even sure there is anything for the scrappers to salvage.

It's sad to see what was once a beautiful boat fall victim to time, neglect & abuse.

SALT water is a lot better for the wood than is fresh, which shrinks the planks. just keep it in sea water for swollen planks and floatation....rodlmffao.

Zee,

How are you pal? I agree salt water & wood works best, However, in the case of the bounty living in salt water, the wood was rotted & the seal between planks were shot. Not even mentioning the system breakdowns.

But hey, aren't you glad your boat is fiberglas?

He he, yepper, that ol' girl is sitting on the hill here in the Cape Fear. Been on it. Some lady paid ten large for it, and another ten large to get it here, and dropped off of the planet never to be heard from again. While I figured she is still detained at a nut-house or something, no one knows. The lumber ain't bad, but there's not an ounce of caulk left in it. There are two poles that come with it, (aluminum), which is worth more than the entire wooden mess, and it's been plundered pretty much it seems. When asked if I would/could fix it, I said of course. I'll cut it in half and make it ten feet longer if you want; simply start rolling wheelbarrows of money over to my building until it looks high enough and I will start. Poor gal, I've sat in the shade of it many times through the summers.

That old motor-sailor in the background can't be bought. Another owner that pays the hill bill just to watch it return to the Earth from which it came..

You know they make "reality" TV out of just about everything these days... but if you could peel back the lid on the quite drama that goes on at a marina...

You know, I'm inclined to believe it. There is something going on on the hill everyday. I know most of those hokey shows are make-believe to a larger extent, but yeah, if you took a culmination of the events here in a week or so time, people might dig it. When I think about it, I didn't take anything but piddly little jobs all winter, have no need for any more money, and show up there 5, or 6 days a week just for the entertainment value. That and I kind of like boats.

And before I forget it, that little trip I just took to south Florida and back? There's a week long tale I couldn't put into words if I sat here all day. And besides, I don't want to get indicted, so I'm keeping my mouth shut.;)
