Here goes...(no pics though): I got out my trusty car/boat washing brush and proceeded to attempt to knock off all the snow on the tarp of the boat while standing in a 2 foot snow drift in my sneakers.... wouldn't ya just know- the only year I didn't hermetically seal the boat before the winter hit. Who knew that NJ was about to become the next Alaska?

In anticipation (dreaming) of spring I mounted my newly acquired Magma grill on a Scotty mount. Can't wait to try it out.

I started the bittersweet process of cleaning her out in preperations for going up for sale. I bought a Cal 2-27 this morning.

Tonight I started working on my new electrical panels. I'm sick of digging under the table for the switches, and also sick of breaking the switches by hitting them with things stored under the table. That panel is just gonna be circuit breakers now, with a protective rim around the edge, and the actual switches will go up high where you can access them easily.

Also dropped these off at the galvanizing shop.

The Magma is high on my list of addons. I was considering one of those pedestal like locking mounts.

Enjoy!

I picked up a tiller pilot last week and I've been working on getting it mounted up. It's not long enough to reach the rail, and I really dont like the mounts that Raymarine sells, nor do I like their price. So instead I decided to make my own brackets. This is what I have for the boat side so far. Once I get it mounted I can figure out how much offset I need on the tiller.

Today I put new rims ($39 each at Northern Tool) on the trailer. I had a slow leak and couldn't find it on the tire, turns out it was a rust hole on the stock rim. Had the existing tires dismounted, mounted and balanced. All is good now. I could have welded the old rim but who knows what would have happened to all the other welds on 24 year old rims.

FYI, you never ever want to weld on a wheel with a tire mounted. BAD things can happen. http://youtu.be/HiLeji8bLOk
That's just it, by the time I paid to have is dismounted, welded, remounted and balanced I was far better off just getting the new wheels. I really should replace the axle and hubs but I'll wait till the boat is in the water for that stuff.

So I finally get to contribute to the thread! Yesterday I picked up my "new" Mac 26D. Now it's time to get her ready for some spring sailing. She is good to sail but needs a little clean up. Lots of "stuff" down below to bring out and then do a general cleaning. Today I'm gonna empty out the cabin in preparation for a good scrubbing. Nice day to work outside. 72 and sunny.

Finally got around to working on my 26s. Added to speakers to the cockpit, installed depth sounder, installed radio, and installed a new vhf radio. Let's see if I can get these pics added.

Finish installing all Christmas goodies and went out sailing yesterday. Lowrance Elite 7 is a wonderful addition. Can clearly see the shape of bottom and fish ( if you care), get water temperature, and charts. Easy to flip between screens. Don't know whether anyone attached VHF antenna like that, but decided on this to avoid drilling holes on the boat. Was very simple to install and cable went in through the existing hole for engine cable (which I also used for depth finder wire and solar panel wire). Now that I'm done writing this just remembered that I also have a new Windex I need to install, oh well at some point.

Pretty sure I've done nothing but work on the boat this weekend. I got that bracket for the tiller pilot mounted up and all the rewiring projects done. Both new panels installed and everything hooked up!

The last thing I did tonight was cut out a couple trays for my porta-potti and the ammo can I use for my cooking stuff to sit in. The current tie down system wasn't working and I'm sick of the toilet tipping over when the boat heels over, and the kitchen box has never had it's own place so now both will be secured. There will be straps going over the top of each.

Stinkbug, nice fabrication projects! I think we all need one of those laser CNC thing-a-ma-jigs in our basements...

I worked on an small outboards, one to get ready to sail and one to get it ready to sell and spilled a little motor oil on my pants. Oddly the smell of small outboard motor oil somehow was like "spring is in the air".

Daylights savings is a little over a week and a half away..

I was hoping to find a used stern rail but no luck. I may have to pay the $$ for a new one :(
I need to finish my swing keel line led aft. I have the hardware, I just need to make the thru-holes in the laz. It's still too cold to work on it.
