Hi Everyone. I could use some information.. Can anyone help me in identifying the boat in this picture, I am unable to find any identifying marks that would let me know the make, model and the approximate dry weight. I would appreciate any info anyone might have

Looks like a Southcoast 22 to me. Ports are right, pop top is right.I rebuilt one for a customer some years ago. Got a pic of the rudder?

Another newbie today! HALLO! I'm the walmart (grrr) greeter.

Don't know what that is but; a little elbow grease, some curtains...should shine up real nice.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the info and the greeting LO, this boat was left abandon at one property I just purchased in Naples Fl, I am trying to get the information so I can list it for free and hopefully find someone to use it. Im guessing its pretty heavy as I can't even make it rock appears to be sitting on large Styrofoam blocks.

yeah I could see that as an issue but I cant find any identifying hull plates on it and really don't know where to look but since I own a demolition company I'm pretty sure I have something to reduce the size but I was hoping to find someone who could do something with it

I thought it was a Venture 21, but if Topcat don't know..
I don't know much man just ask the admiral.

You know its got some features of a Venture but I've never been on a V21 - only seen photos; but the way the hull deck joint is put together, the rub rail, the outboard mount, the shape of the combings, the gun slit windows....it just might be a venture.

I do believe Captain Patterson might be on to something.

After looking at photos of the SC 22 I notice that the cockpit combing is not right. I few shots from different angles would help. I doubt there is any lead in the boat and would guess it has a cast iron swing keel. The boat looks dumpster ready to me. Maybe the trailer is worth something.

That looks like a Macgregor V21 to me.

If so, the keel is 400# of cast iron. There would have been a winch in the cockpit for rolling it up. The Hull Identification Number (HIN) would be on the transom, upper right corner.

Here are pics of one that I restored. A pressure washer, some sanding and a little rustoleum can go a long way.

Yep- have to retract my SC 22 guess. Side decks are really wrong. Looks like a V 21 is best guess.

Won't be easy to restore- looks pretty gungy.

Good luck

Retract my original guess. The V21 did not have a pop-top. I'm now going with a MacGregor V22. I've also restored one of those... :) here are some pics.

Does this boat have a raised gunwale on the foredeck (bow)? If so then it is a V22-2. Does it have a front window on the cabin?

If it is a V22 then the keel is 600# of cast iron and the winch would be just on the inside of the companionway hatch. The V21 has the winch in the cockpit. That should help you figure it out. But from the picture you posted, this looks like it has a pop top and the V21 did not have that feature.

I know that boat looks really nasty but truth is a good pressure wash will do it a wonder of good. On all the old boats I've restored, I'd rip out all of the rotten wood inside, then go inside with the shop vac in one hand and the pressure washer in the other. A few hours of work and I had a clean boat. Then cut some new bulkheads using the old ones as templates and you have a new boat. One long weekend of work plus a second to paint her once she is clean.

Even if it cleaned up nice there is no rigging/sails. Major $$ involved.
