Asymmetrical spinnaker on H260

Does anyone here use an a-spin on their H260? There is no good way to run the tack line that I can tell. I did find this mod here and I like what I see. http://hunter.sailboatowners.com/in...id=267&cat_id=20&aid=8057&page=article&mn=260 But I want to try my spinnaker before spending the money on the hardware. How do y'all do it?

That's actuality pretty clever. If it were my boat, I'd look to modify that solution to account for side loads while reaching; some way to triangulate that base. As it is, it relies on the strength of those joints to hold up to a big load. But its a great start.

I had a piece of lifeline gate wire cable swaged and added 2 shackles. My forward forestay attachment point is open as my furler is in the rear one. I just attach the wire to the clew of the Assym. I then use one of the ATN tackers to control the luff. Doesn't work well but I'm not a racer!

I installed a block to the pulpit, front and center.
I use some parrel beads around the forestay to take as much lateral strain off the tackline as possible.

Works fine so far, but I'm pretty conservative. It did get thrashed about darned good on my last outing, with no ill effects.

This looks like a pretty workable solution. It never occurred to me to use the pulpit as an attachment point.

I did something similar without the extra cable, attached a block to hole just forward of where the forestay pins. Ran the line back to the cockpit. I haven't used it in a long time but it seemed to work ok for my needs. I have a tacker as well. Didn't think about attaching it to the pulpit, might be a better location if it can handle the loads ok.

Gents, just make sure that you secure the bow pulpit as I have heard and seen of bow pulpits that had to be repaired or replaced when not secured all that well.

Kermit, send me a private email sir. Need to talk with an old friend. ever figure how to get rid of those spiders. Also the squirrels on your lake love to nest under the mainsail cover and have a meal with the mainsail. I trained those squirrels to stay away using moth balls.
