Hi, I have purchased a Hunter 34 and am working on a few things. What I need to know is if I should trim the new Beckson ports I'm installing or leave them factory length. If left they will have a 3/4 inch over hang from the cabin side. Any thoughts?

We've used a bandsaw and a fence to cut down the beckson ports. Accidentally ordered 2" ports when I needed 1" ports. Would have sent them back but ran out of time to return them and get the correct ones back so.... snip. A tiny bit of trimming afterwards and you can not tell which are 2" and which are 1". So go for it. Just leave enough sticking out for the outer ring.
Trim them flush. And use the correct adhesive (DC 795, if memory serves).
I prefer to not have the fasteners showing, but that's just a matter of personal preference.
Pic is of the factory port in my H340. I also recently installed a pair of smaller ones in the cockpit of my Mac26X, again with flush trimming and no visible (from the outside) hardware.

The originals were Gray ports (Pomponette). They sell them here on this website.
I would agree that trimming them flush or close to flush is best. They are very hard on the ankles.
