Having trouble locating a replacement piece of braided poly cord. You know, the two that run along the side of your dinghy? Stores seem to stock 3/8 but this looks to me probably 10-12 mm or as much as 1/2" if I measure right. Zodiac's website does a great job showing their boats, not so much service and parts.

Yep, like that, except the West Marine here has too small a diameter! And would like to be able to buy the 4 feet I need, not 50 or 100.
The three strand polypro that SBO sells could work, but I've not tried it. It may.
The 1/2" Novabraid that Defender sells will fit and we've used it in the shop. Novabraid 1/2"
Very easy to splice back to itself and a comfortable grip for a grab line [not intended for lifting on any inflatable].

I doubt that Zodiac would be much interested in stocking something you can buy in almost any marine chandler. Defender is a Zodiac dealer so they could probably sell you line that would do. Mine are spliced on and splicing polypro is no fun, IMO. Personally, I doubt I'd replace ours should they break, but after ten plus years on our last Zodiac in the tropical sun uncovered, they still seemed nearly new.What happened to yours if you don't mind saying?
Thanks, fellas. This braid is secured with clips which split in half, one part with holes, one with nibs. You punch holes in the braid, push the clips together, etc. That Novabraid sounds good, maybe stands up to UV better than polyprop which does not do so well. Hopefully I can find at the local chandlery as West's here is on the edge of closing I think with poor stocks across the board.
The ones on our Zodiac are black and as I said, they lasted over 10 years in the sun. Black zip ties also last better in the sun, contrary to what one would assume, being that black absorbs heat so much more than lighter colors.. Does anyone know why?
The black zip ties have a UV inhibitor, the white, clear and other colors do not.
Thanks, fellas! My Zodiac Wave's are in fact deep gray and 7/16" looks like. A 7/16" size Novabraid PV 12 should work fine and last longer than the Polyprop stuff which I associate with children's swmming pools, etc. No joy at local chandlery, but Defender sells by the foot and I needed something else anyway to get me to their $25 minimum.
