Does your underwater metal look ok? Any signs of a pinkish color? Do you get burning or wasting of the bottom paint around the thru hulls? If yes to any of these then you likely do. If you do not have any of these symptoms then you are probably ok
When you lower the propeller into the water now you have 2 dissimilar metals in the water. During this period the zinc sacrifices itself and saves the other metals from dissolving into the water. If your engine is always out of the water - then you do not need it. Remeber that the other boats in the marina that are connected to the shore power or have 2 dissimilar metals in the water at all times - such as powerboats and sailboats with internal engine - are creating stray currents in the water. This will dissolve any metal that is outside of your boat.

Irrelevant. What you are describing is galvanic corrosion and only occurs when two dissimilar metals are in contact with each other and immersed in an electrolyte (like seawater.) Not the case in the OP's situation. Further, galvanic corrosion aboard a particular boat is not going to affect a neighboring boat. Again, the dissimilar metals involved must be in contact with each other.
