ZF 12m 2:1 Question

Need a new gear for our boat.Problem is no one has a gear with 2:1 ratio available because of supply chain
One supplier has a new one but it is a 2.6:1
Anyone out there have experience to know if changing from 2:1 to 2.6:1 will be a dissapointment

Things have changed since summer. In summer it was the other way around, no 2.6s and just 2.1s.

We replaced our Kanzaki with a 2.6 last summer. The prop will need to be changed either re-pitched if it has an adjustable pitch or replaced if it is a fixed prop.

Also expect to replace the mounting plate, flange (get a split flange), mounting bolts, and transmission cable. While things are apart replacing the damper plate is probably a good idea.
