From a post just this morning on cruisersforum, thought you'd like to know:

It's been a scary past 4 days waiting for and then dealing with the Cat.5 Hurricane that hit Barra de Navidad, where our old friend has been docked for about 3 years now.
The good news is she, Bubba Daboatkat and Zee's Formosa 41 made it through with very little damage to the boat, Zee and Bubba.
I know she will share it all as soon as she can..
But wanted ya'll to know, she is fine !
Hup, Hup, Huzzah !

wow.
wotaride. that bitch was MEAN

so by now you all know the things eyeball looked down on us and then blew fury. impressive.
yes there ARE dead people.
yes there IS, damage, some heavily so.
yes towns like la perula were washed to sea complete with inhabitants.
so. do NOT believe us news services spewing no damages and no deaths.
we talkin RURAL mexico here.
remember rural free delivery of mail, 1950s style?? even more rural than that. roads are blocked by trees. mud. rocks. sand. it will be weeks before all are found.

ok
so, isla navidad IS an excellent cane hole even to cat 7
n3xt time i stay in boat. safer than land
believe me.
during eye i went to boat n pumped bilges and checked it out. not bad .. still had boarding ladder ....

until that freeking lovely 250 mph gust post eye that slammed bird against dock despite fenders .....crushed mahogany and bronze ladder. i have 9ne fitting and one small splinter of wood left of it. and my 02cool 3way fan broke waaah. without water and lights on dock, is bakeoven comfy inside boat.
i am most fortunate.
as were the crew of the bulk cargo ship that somehow by maginlc and nature found self inside our pacific rocks during brunt of mayhem. whiteout and huge crashing seas and they are perfextly stashed on SAND between sharp pointed ROCKS wow
ok using fone, samsung a 5. banda ancha only. we get fb free..lol please check my fb page for pix.
today there are lights in barra. now they have running water and cold food storage. whew.
isla. still no lights no water in marina. i will eat at marys later for pix. will post fb. no wifi until lights work.
4.5 ft seas in flat2aterclagoon dragged 35 mII ericson out of mangroves onto marys restaurant panga docks.
forget any remaining docks. aint none. water taxi brand new pist jova docks..crushed. restaurants crushed. second floor restaurants crushed.
beaches gone. all on waterfront in la manzanilla and other pueblas washed to sea. people included. la manz, most lost swam back. strong folks here.
storm was bludi brutal.
bubba was out in it inhis carrier.. now has ptsd. poor baby. he is so glad to be home. meouwing for air conditioner. hope that is soon. this area needs that, especially if one is a spoiled gringa or main3 coon mix cat. furry lil clown. he is the best kat, poor baby. he has zero interest in feet on land
yeah. we made history. yeah we lived
beautiful storm, wasnt she!?!

please check my fb page.
no lights no 2ater no wifi. fone. blaaahhh
fb free. please check there.do not listen to usa news services. they LIE. yes death n destruction we a8nt 8n a bubble. no one will find many of dead for weeks. very rural. trees mud rocks yada inroads ..impassable. la petula se fue to sea with inhabitants . ditto beach front la manzanilla. yes with people. the cool ex pat trailers se fuen gone.
no death, bo damage?? get real folks. cat 7 freekun cane..there ARE damages.
and how bout thatbulk cargo ship that found its way onto sand between rocks in brunt of 250 kt gust, not hit rocks. wholly flying tangos. good driving, capt.
my damages are minimal.
isla navidad is a good cane hol3.
cabo blanco,up the canals, is NOT so. damages and sailboats on land from rebound effect of 4.5 ft seas in 90 d3gree concrete channels. whooopsy.
bubba has ptsd from wild storm in soft carrier.
next time istay on boat. is MUCH safer.

still no water on most marina docks. everywhere ese has water, not here. ok.
and so i found more sabo done to my boat..i consider a few gallons of sand in the water tankage recently cleaned a work of sabo . probably done during the alleged cleaning. the results of this ...
one fresh water pump fail in less than 9 months. ok. spo the lastone lasted 10 years easily... oops
sand in my fresh water
inability to load more than 15-20 gallons water into my tanks when refilling. ok they 49 gallon, so i have XX gallons sand placed manually into my clean starboard tank by the saboteur who flew into mx from floriduh to perform such acts of savagery upon my boat and life.
ok so i am flustrated but not stopped.
proposition----- i will help someone learn this lifestyle and boat repair and how to make passages and such cruising stuff in exchange for helping me ready and sail and if ye have no life, ye might be able to stick around for some more knowledge as this progressses. must provide own flight in and out of mexico and have all the time in the world to repair gods know what has been done to this poor boat in the name of allleged repair.
nor am i able to support the individual who helps out--i can provide berth in my home and half food. i will cook food. bad habits are not supported by me, so if ye drink and smoke--smokers not welcome due to allergies and cat. drink--provide by drinker. i do not drink. there is a lot of work to be done and it can be fun. i prefer it to be fun. pm me if interested. \
mysogynists, woman haters smokers severe bipolars, narcissists, and schizophrenics please do not apply. btdt. why do ye think i have to continue searching....

Wish I could take you up on your offer Zee. I love working on my boat almost more than sailing her, don't drink or smoke, but alas, I'm committed to work until the end of 2017. Planning to cruise and live aboard after retiring.

glad to see things are getting better for you..... you are really lucky there are still places where Hugo hit south carolina and places where Katrina hit the gulf that they are still crawling out of ...i suspect you really needed a good long shower and that may have helped you in feeling better about recovery ...keep your chin up take a deep breath and get to work so you can come over the the atlantic for a while .......best wishes
