So I’m following up with John Halter of Zarcor for a set of their awesome companionway doors. Is the mainsheet traveler on my 1978 H30C gonna present a major problem while close hauled?
Good to know, thanks for that.Changed to a keyed lock and like that much better.
Hey @ggrizzard, that’s interesting. I have a marina mate with ‘79 H30C, floor plan nearly identical to mine, and he’s got the traveler on deck. No indication that it was a PO modification, and no channel in the cockpit. Regardless, thanks for your input. I’m getting these doors pal.My '79 has the traveler like yours. They didn't change the design until 1980, me thinks.
I think the cabin top to coaming transition is similar and I'm not positive about settee wrap around. His boat has the eight opening port lights, whereas mine has 4, with 2 longer fixed ports lights above the galley and nav table. His cockpit is different than mine with the walk around the wheel cut-outs.Looking at his cabin top, does it 'swoop' down to the coaming differently to yours? I bet your friend has the "wrap around" seating on the port side settee as well.
If so, I think he has a veeery late 79 or a 1980 model..
Yeah, me too. LOLOops! My Bad. Mine has eight opening ports as well. But, the "cut out"
walk around was the 1980. I have, on the other hand, have to dodge the ignition key on mine.
For sure, I can’t keep stain and varnish on the weather side for more than 1 season. They will be a huge improvement!
