YSE12 Replacement with What?

I need to replace the yse12 in my hunter 30. Does anyone know what would fit in the engine compartment without too much modification? The big hurdle is obviously the height issue, everything else I can deal with. Thanks ahead

2GM if you can find one.

Beau: I do not think that the height is a problem on those boats. The compartment is quite wide (which may be a bigger problem). The 2GM is a common replacement for these boats, but the engine is no longer mfg. The new YM series is a very nice alternative, but you may faint when you look at the price. I would look for a good used engine (Kabota, Bukh, Yanmar) and find out what is involved in the installation. If you can do it yourself then anything is possible.

Look at Vetus

I have a 76 H30 that I repowered with a Vetus m3.10. The latest model is a m3.09. It's footprint fit perfectly on the old engine bed. It's also lighter than the yse12. Good luck with your repower.
