After reading through your reference library, the other posts, listening intently to your lecture at the Chesapeake Rendezvous, I finally checked my vent hose and replaced plated bronze vent cap w/ screen. You were right, it was all caked up w/ gunk, but some how air was still (barely) getting through. Now the intersting thing. Three week ago before going to the BVIs on a charter I pumped out the holding tank and I put in my first does of Kills Odors. When doing the above work I curiously took a wiff on the end of the vent hose. No smell what so ever. That stuff is great!! Just to be safe though I'm getting rid of the thin corregated vent tubing (along with two 180 degree turns) and installing the white PVC tubing. Thanks much for a great forum. Mark s/v Tequilia

Thanks Mark! :)

It's amazing how much difference just a little understanding of some basic principles of nature--and that's all they are...I didn't invent anything!--can make, isn't it? :) Glad to know you solved your problem so easily!
