Here is a very fun sailing video with music. Granted it is about a French 50' or 60' trimaran, but is still fun to watch. The video is actually in two segments. First Segment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWINygISxDE Second Segment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLMOdhce-Pk HAVE FUN

Saling video

The video reminds me of how I feel and the freedom I have when I am on a storm weather run, main full out and preventer set, with the 150 genoa polled-out, surfing down the large swells with the knot meter pegged at 10 knots on my Catalina 30. Thats what sailing is all about, even when you are in your 70's and ache for days after. It's all worth it. Novelman

I wish we could get a full length flic like this

WOW! The footage reminds me of the guy who shoots full length movies like these about skiing, if my brain isn't too warped I think his name is Warren Miller or something like that. Is there anybody out there that does a similar thing for sailing?

That was Great

Really got the blood flowing. Can not wait to get the boat back in the water. Of course my max speed is only 9 on a really good day not the 31+

A few observations: 1. The dolphins: We see so many of them here on Lake Ontario we find them boring 2. In the swimming scene - I certainly hope that the drink on the cushion did not contain an alchoholic beverage 3. You are not wearing a PDF 4. Up here in Western NY I really needed this video right about now, despite our warm winter ( so far). I go down to the club and visit Trav'ler once a week and can only dream of spring. Nice video. Where was it shot? Looks like one of those days where when its over you say, "That's why I bought a boat"

Dick D?

Nice Job on the video. How fast were you going? The videos seem to accentuate the speed.

Dick Dixon - Great Video

Dick: That should be entitled "Why we Sail"...very cool....Where was most of that shot, it looks like in Florida or near Gulf Shores? I'm assuming it was fairly close to Pascagoula? Really, very cool, makes me want to take the boat out today....no beaches in Lake Ponchartrain, though...

You tube, whatta trip

Gotta love watching/dreaming the maxi fringe but Dick's right on with the regular guy goes sailing vid. It kills me to watch this stuff from my desk in Sarasota knowing it's beautiful just down the street at the Gulf right this second...arrrggg. The boat calls from the dock.....Must resist, must resist. Hey Dick love the vid but the music seems out of place. Needs a cool sailing flair. 4 out of 5 stars and an "E" for effort. Thanks for sharing. Michael and Kelli Sarasota, Fl 2004 H260 s/v Plan B

Higgs......

Are you really serious with the observations? There are literally hundreds of dolphins in the Mississippi Sound off Pascagoula, Mississippi. The dolphins video was taken near the mouth of the river where it meets the Gulf of Mexico. the guy in the water at Horn Island was definitely drinking rum & coke....as a matter of fact he was almost plastered when the photo was taken. Even though most of my sailing is singlehanded I only wear a PFD when the weather gets ugly or the winds pick up considerably. The video included footage shot mostly along the Mississippi Gulf Coast off Pascagoula, the scenes of white sand and the beautiful anchorage were taken at Big Lagoon west of Pensacola, Florida. This a favorite anchorage for my sailing buddies and me; we spend as much time as possible there. Insofar as speed, my Elite 37 will easily peg 7+ knots in a good breeze flat water scenerio. I put the video together just horsing around....all in about an hour or less....just for fun. Glad you liked it....and yes, I plan to sail at least two days this weekend...temperatures are expected to be in the low 70's....my sincere feelings go out to you guys living up north...sorry. Dick

Awesome!

Great video, now in my favorites list. I love the scene at the beginning of the big tri overtaking the sailboard. Thanks!

yVANS bOURGNONG

This is the boat raced by Yvans Bourgnon in 2006 for "la route du Rhum" Solo race in wich he finished 6 but broke the 24hr speed record... over 600 nMiles in 24hr. Make my 24hr look really bad... Route du Rhum is a race follwing the old clipper routes. http://teamocean.blogsdesport.fr/ Cheers, a.
