You know you have it bad when...

You look at the ice floes on the big lake and say, "Heck, they sail in the Antarctic, I bet I could get through THAT stuff!" ;) Dave s/v Wind Dreamer II

It is bad when...

You load the family in the dingy on the back lawn and see if the wind is strong enough to move it!

It's bad when

you realize that your boat would just fit in and float in the pool in your backyard! ;D

Jim: I feel your pain

Been a loooooooong winter. I played hooky and got the rest of my spring maintenance done (today!) in prep for launch next week. Y'oughta come sail with me. When does Java go back into the drink? Must be soon... at least I hope so for your sake.

How about newbie spring fever

after just buying our first boat, I'm way beyong feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas.... I go to sleep thinking sailing, I wake up thinking sailing and can barely concentrate at work thinking sailing.... and the ice is barely out of the harbour. !!! I look at a web cam of a neighbouring marina and refresh constantly to see if the ice is gone yet. I refresh my e-mail anticipating the next step from the broker in preperation to have the boat shipped 3 hrs. north. Sad part is, I know the minute it splashes and hits the water..... poof..... it'll be time to haul it out and park it for the winter :( :( :( I've got it real bad ...... Scott H33 Sunset Chaser

After 30+ years...

...it doesn't get any better. I too fall asleep thinking sailing. This time of year I am looking at the waether and planning which days will be boat working days. My wife knows not to book anything during the day this time of year becasue it could be a good boat working day. I look for excuses to go visit Trav'ler while she is on the hard. Hell, what am I doing talking to you guys - I got a jones and I got it bad and so do all of you.

Scott, I'm with you. I've put off going back to work for 2 extra weeks (so far) just to finish my 222. The wife works nights, the kids are in school, no distractions. First boat. I catch myself sitting in the companionway watching the clouds go by. And glueing my hands together with 4200. Nebo
