I'm looking at either the inexpensive Hummingbird Piranhamax, Eagle Cuda, or Garmin 90 fishfinders as a backup for the depthfinder on my boat. Reason is I was splashed on Friday and the depthfinder was giving erroneous readings and I haven't had time to troubleshoot. Can anyone tell me the lengths for the transducer cables on any of these finders? I spent some time looking on the web at their manuals and none of the manufacturers seem to list the cable lengths. Also if anyone has the Garmin unit, can they tell me if it works shooting through the hull? The Eagle and the Hummingbird manuals show that they can be mounted inside the hull, but the Garmin manual makes no mention of it.I'm hopefully leaving for Havre De Grace on Friday and I don't feel like grounding the boat!Manny
