Here in Nevada we sail year around. The summers get a little warm, 110 or so, but the fall and spring are the best. The Lake Mead Sailing Club schedule overnighters on some of the coves in January. The advantage is that almost no one else is on the lake and we build a huge bon fires, swap lies and drink a little grog. It does get cold here,in the 30's at times but most of the time it warms up to the mid 50's. I've sailed here looking up at the snow line on the mountains and it was truly spectacular. The other advantage is that the jet skiers wouldn't dare come out during the winter and that alone makes it all worth the chill in the air. After moving from Colorado Nevada is truly great.....NO SNOW!JohnEricson 30"Gypsy Woman"
