This past weekend even though the water was still a bit cold I was able to finally install my new shaft log hose, new stuffing box, new stainless steel shaft and newly re-pitched, cleaned and balanced three bladed prop. It took a little longer than I anticipated but with help from a good friend, him in the boat and me under it, we were successfully. Engine run up and drive train testing went fine.
Next I will re-install the rudder which I had to remove to get the shaft out. I have fixed a couple small cracks in it and re-glassed and repainted it. Once the rudder is back on, I'm back in business and I can't wait to get back on the water. Last June my cutless bearing went out and I was basically out of it the entire summer. So I have a lot of lost time to make up. Temperatures up in the 70s and 80s predicted. Yes, I'm Stoked!!!
