I'm getting the Beta 25. I was tempted by the Sole, but there were a lot of little things that I didn' like (like how hard it is to get at the impeller). The Yanmar guys said a few things I didn't like ("what's that?" "It's a relay." "I KNOW it's a relay - what is it for?" and "you don't need a waterlock (aqualift) if you have a high-rise elbow"). The fuel shutoff is electric, meaning you need a battery to run it. They denied the cost I received in the emails for things like the mixing elbow. So... back to Beta, and Ben gave me an even better price than the email quote. Good Stuff!
I'll be getting the invoice on Monday, pay for it, then it will be delivered (at least to the airport) in about 4 weeks. Then it will be sitting in my carport for a month or so while I work like Little Ant to get the money for it (and wait for the days to be longer so I can get the boat down from Pender Hbr to Shelter Island Marina)
