beware of clamp tension!
on the stern side of the binacle theres a straight screw driver adjustment screw that clamps down on the shield of the throttle cable, and keeps it from moving with the handle on my 84 h34. i know it very well. i just replaced my cable over the winter, before i had to bring my boat to the ocean side, through hells gate. everything has to be perfect when you could encounter 7 knots of current passing by manhattan. this screw creates the correct tenision, but needs to be modified else it will break, like mine did. its made out of cheap white metal. i had one made of higher quality stock, and it holds very well now. getting in the binacle was a bitch, unless you have 5 year old sized hands. so dont break it in the first place. theres also a little clamp on the rear of the heat exchanger that crushes a bolt aganist the cable, but really looks cheap & has to be too tight to be effective. i dont know if it was supplied with the boat when new. youll have to ask a guy named rube......
