Hi Folks,This is just an FYI that might save a mechanic visit for someone as mechanically inept as myself. I've got a YSB-12 that failed to start on a recent daysail. Long story made short: checked all the obvious things (low cranking speed, air in lines, bad fuel, clogged filters, etc). Turned out to be my throttle linkage had slipped at the governor so that the engine was slightly fuel starved. The red-herring is that the engine would start when cold, (the opposite of the usual problem) but once warmed up would not re-start. I think (have not conferred with mechanic yet) that what is happening is that the bronze throttle linkage is shrinking slightly in the cold weather- enough so that I have more purchase on the throttle. Once it warms up and lengthens, I don't have quite as much movement available. That's a guess - it's possibly just some weirdness in the fuel pump. I'll put in a plug for Richmond Boatworks (CA) while I'm at it. They're a little disorganized, but know their stuff and shared their knowledge.Cheers.
