Yanmar sitting Idle

I just purchased a 1984 O'day 26. She has been unattended for several years, in a marina slip. I'm really excited abut having an inboard diesel but have a large learning curve to face. My concern is that the engine, a Yanmar 1GM has been sitting for soooo long. I'm looking for suggestions as to what should be done BEFORE I start her up the first time. I'm figuring the fuel tank should be emptied, fresh oil, plug, filter, etc. All comments are welcome. I have lots of work to do on this boat (rotted bulkeads, tiller repair/replace, carpet & cushions, etc) but am anxious to get her out of the slip and enjoy a short motorsail around the lake.

I think Yanmar has a web site that maybe helpful. After changing motor oil, fuel, fuel filters, fuel tank, and I would try to flush clean fuel through the lines. Then I would roll the engine over by hand just to get things moving.
