yanmar service manual

Yesterday I did some routine maintenance on my single cylinder Yanmar. I spent at least half of my time trying to make sense of the instructions in the manual. I have the original one the came with the engine. Does anyone have an after-market manual that they like? I'm looking for something with nice step by step instructions and plenty of pictures. I see lots on the internet, but I can't really tell which are user friendly. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I agree, Prankster.. I have the original Yanmar manual and I have the shop manual for my 1985 Yanmar 3 GMF.. Very usable but takes some familiarization.. My advice (if ya can’t find a local course on the particular engine) is to get a gear head friend to review the manual and give you a hands on session on your engine.. You should have seen the manual that came with my 1962 Honda 305 motorcycle!.. strange direct Japanese to English literal translation.. VERY confusing.. A much older gear head friend who had motorcycles and airplanes that he maintained walked me through the Honda book and showed me what it meant.
