The enigne runs terrific. However, at the end of this season, it began to slip out of forward gear into neutral. If I hold the MorseTeleflex lever in place with a little pressure, it runs perfectly. I disconnected the cable to make certain the shift lever on the yanmar was popping in correctly...seemed ok. I am trying to determine if this is an engine or a teleflex 64BC shift cable problem. I am contemplating buying a brand new cable to remedy the problem...it is an expensive experiment at about $120+ for the cable. Any thoughts or experience with the problem would be appreciated. There is no slipping of the trans. Some people suggested the addition of a cable u clamp over the cable to reduce the slippage backward slippage.

Mounting

How many levers do you have, and where are they mounted (side of the cockpit well, or on a wheel?) David Lady Lillie

I have one lever for forward neutral and reverse that does it all. Separate lever for throttle. The morse unit is mounted sideways under the seat (tiller steering)
