Yanmar SB 8 Cylinder Head

I have a 1978 Hunter 27 with a Yanmar SB 8 diesel engine. The cylinder head is cracked between the intake and exhaust valves. I am trying to have the head repaired, however, in the event it cannot be repaired does anyone know where I can find a new/or used cylinder head? I have been looking on line and it appears some of the parts for this engine have been discontinued. Thanks

Try Mac Boring in NJ or Torrensen Marine out West (Michigan I think) I've used them both over the years and thy have almost all of the parts and expertise you might need. TI don't have the addresses with me but they are easy to find on the web....

Thanks for the information. I emailed them on Friday and hope to have some type of response next week. Also, hoping the machine shop that has my current head can make the necessary repairs. I will post all results on this forum. Thanks

I found a head for the Yanmar SB 8 engine. It was ordered for me by Gulf Coast Composites in Kemah Texas and their phone number is 281-334-4417. They are a Yanmar dealer and purchased the inventory from Blue Water Ship Store that closed. They not only located a head but they had an extra Yanmar diesel engine catalog for the SB8/12 which lists all parts and part numbers. I purchased that for future use. The part number for the head assembly is 705282-11700 and the cost was 720.29. Not sure if the head is complete with valves, springs, retainers, etc. Expecting delivery in approximately 2 weeks.
