Yanmar replacement engine

Recently aquired storm damaged 1986 H34 needs a engine. I located a 1979 27HP Yanmar3QM30H. The present owners info me that the engines weight is 500 lbs. Is this suitable for the H34? Also, after contacting Hunter Marine in Florida, I'm told they routinely destroy molds, and plan every five years. What were the factory engine options in 1986? and, can I locate a manual for this vessel?Thanks,Joe

Replacement engine

The 1986 Hunters used the 3GM30F, rated 27 HP at 3600 RPM, weighiong 304 pounds with fresh water cooling. Your 3QM30H is pre 1981 and was rated 33 HP at 2800 RPM, weighing 573 pounds with sea water cooling. The G engine mounts are 14.25", on certer while the Q is 16.9. The widest part of the crankcases are the same so the engine should fit between the beds but they may require modification. Engine manuals are available. A manual for the boat might best be obtained by locating someone with a similar boat, who still has the manual, and making a copy. A post on the HOW might do the trick.
