http://www.marinedieseldirect.com/ These guys were fighting to put Yanmar parts on the web when Mac Boring was fighting against it. Go figure. For all I iknow they still are. Anyway, for knowledge of the engines and ease of ordering these guys are a better choice than MB.

They quit selling to me a few of years ago because I live on the west coast out of there teritory. To bad they are very easy to deal with.

Higher prices
Marine Diesel Direct can only sell within their assigned territory, the borders of which make little sense. Their web site spells it out. I have found that Mack Boring charges higher prices than Marine Diesel Direct for the same part.

But I was under the impression that it's against federal law for companies to divide up the country into exclusive sales territories, requiring consumers to buy from a designated dealer. isn't that something like price fixing, suppressing free trade, etc.? Any FTC lawyers out there care to wade in?

Non-price territorial restrictions are not per se illegal. They are judged under the fairly liberal "rule of reason" test, and are quite common.

If you know a friend or realtive that lives in the eastern US(mainly served by Torrenson ) have the part shipped to them and then on to you. I did this for a number of expensive parts,engine mounts, cooling hose,etc. Even with the shipping it was cheaper than buying from the local deler by about half. Also no sales tax. Trust me it works. Torrenson doesn't know or care, they are sending to their territory.
