Yanmar motor mounts

I have a 1990 35.5 Yanmar 3gm30f
I was looking at the front of the engine and the bottom of the motor mount goes into a solid piece on each side. I’m just wondering if there is possibly a T nut or something inside that the bolts screw into because it doesn’t seem to be any access at the bottom to hold the nut from the inside, if you know what I mean, any help would be greatly appreciated

Sorry @shawanaga but couldn't even begin to tell you what kind of motor mount you've got without a picture.

I know Yanmar mounts and from your description, that doesn't sound like the original mount. Pictures speak louder than words.

There is usually a large access hole on the vertical aspect of the fiberglass stringer, adjacent to the mount, to provide access to backing washers & lock nuts. I do not see any access holes in your photo. Perhaps, there is a threaded plate encapsulated in the stringer that captures the mounting bolts. That scenario might be a blessing because it was a total PIA replacing my mounts; not enough access, clearance, & visualization available. I used Ellebogen mounts instead of Yanmar. 100KG shore hardness on both forward mounts & 75KG on rear mounts.

Hello, can't say for sure on your vintage of Hunter. I just changed the mounts on my 2011 Hunter. The solid piece as you referred to is typically called a stringer. On my Hunter lag bolts were used likely into wood which was covered in fiberglass to make up the stringer. On my friends 2008 Catalina there was a metal plate embedded in the fiberglass which is completely covered so you don't know until the bolt is removed. As you do not have access holes it must be one or the other.
Looking at your picture my best guess is it lag bolts like mine. You could loosen one of the bolts until you can see the threads then you will know if it is a wood style thread or machine thread.
If you are going to change the mounts I suggest taking detailed measurements and marking the base position before removing the old mounts. I used Ellebogen mounts, one month in and still happy.

This is how I replaced stripped out lag screws on my motor mount. Welded on an extension, and used aluminum instead of star board, then drilled new holes in the stringer after filling the old holes with epoxy. It's been trouble free now for 200+ hours.

Definitely Yanmar mounts. And the stringer at that point is very solid wood encased in FG.

Make sure you use sealant when you are doing an alignment to avoid the possibility of water getting into the lag bolt hole(s).

if you asking about how the motor mount is mounted to the white surface/stringer......with lag screws. If you asking what the large threaded stud that goes up throught the mount and through the engine block bracket......it is attached to the top metal bracket on the mount.
