Hi all- I'm planning to add engine gauges (keeping the buzzers) so I can visually monitor my 3gm30F engine health and because heck I want to:). I have read the threads about other owners making the same mods- I know there is an extra plug underneath the oil filter that I can use for the oil pressure sender and there is a plug in my thermostat cover which I was planning to use for the water temp gauge. I also learned that the threads in the plug in the engine are most likely BSP not NPT and that to use most instruments available I will need a NPT -BSP adaptor- recently as I was surfing the web- I found yanmar adapted instruments on the Catalina direct website- is there any reason these won't work in my engine- that is did Catalina customize there yanmars so they are different from ours in Hunters

If you have NMEA 2K chartplotter you can tie the gauges to a Noland Engineering RS11 or Actisense EMU-1 and get the display right on the plotter. I have the RS-11 and Raymarine e7D and i70. Both will flash warning if setpoints are violated. Very nice as I’m hard of hearing and don’t hear the alarms.
