Since I am having so much trouble with my renault motor and prop I was wondering what a yanmar conversion would entail? Do I need a new transmission? Anyone know round about prices? Thanks

Yanmar replacement is expensive

I'm not the expert, so I strongly recommend that you search the archives. My memory is that a Yanmar will drop right in, but a new diesel will be expensive. But I think the Renault will drive the boat with the standard prop. I'd have a real diesel mechanic have a look at the Renault and make sure it is running right. If it is, then you'll probably be OK. A new prop is another project where you will want to find a supplier with knowledge to help with the selection. It's easy to pick the wrong pitch, and make the problem worse. How much are we talking about....

how much is expensive? I think the renault is running fine. Do you know of anyone or place I can talk to for getting a prop. BEcause the prop on the boat does not move it at all. Thanks

Try the Cherubini forum

Many of us 27 owners with the Renault lurk there or the midsize forum. FYI I have a 13 RH 10 prop that moves the boat quite nicely (2-blade.)
