I cant find the part number anywhere. can i just plug it with a brass freeze plug (is that the right term?)? i know nothing about how to measure it. i guess im looking at something metric? i also know nothing about threads (i do have a metric/sae tap & die kit, would it be useful to take a measurement?). is there a general kind of measurement/standard/thread i'm looking for with a yanmar? is it ok to just plug it? I figure i would use teflon tape on it? temporarily i really rigged plugging it, just to test run the engine. I slipped a hose over the nipple, hose clamped it, then plugged the end of the hose. but thats not gonna work, the hose clamp is barely grabbing anything, and actually it just fell off.
i dont see how plugging would be bad, it just wont have a convenient knob to turn the drain off & on. just remove the plug instead.
thanks for your help, im rushing to nail down last minute items before launch and in such new territory with a lot of this stuff. im learning as i go!
