Yanmar 4JH5E silencer

Hi All,

I have a Yanmar 4JH5E (2011 model) at approx. 1000 hours without any problem and I am planning to clean air intake silencer. Are there any critical details with that?

it basically no different than changing you auto air cleaner just take it off and inspect the housing and if need be replace the filter if there is one in there

Thank you very much. As far as I know there is no filter in it. I was afraid to take it off in case of any membranes of adjusting valves etc.

Is it a metal type cone 2 pieces with 2 clips holds it on and a filter element
made of metal mesh with foam inside the metal mesh.
that is what I have on my 3YM30 from yanmar dealer.

On my 4jh it is different Nick. It is a plastic box with a suction pipe. I used to have a 2gm20 and it was same as yours.
